Saint Elizabeth of Hungary was a princess, wife, mother, and young widow who devoted her life and wealth to serving the poor and sick. She established a hospital in Marburg, where she personally cared for those in need, and became an enduring symbol of Christian charity, humility, mercy, and faithful service. She is honored as a patron saint of hospitals, nurses, widows, the homeless, and those who have been falsely accused or driven from their homes.
This vigil may be petitioned for someone who is hospitalized, ill, or receiving medical care, seeking healing, comfort, attentive treatment, and compassionate helpers. It may also be set for nurses, healthcare workers, and family caregivers who need strength, patience, protection, and guidance while caring for others. Those experiencing widowhood, poverty, displacement, or sudden hardship may call upon Saint Elizabeth for spiritual support and charitable assistance.
Your vigil will be carefully dressed, blessed, petitioned, and burned on your behalf by Divine Harmony Spiritual Church. You will receive a photograph of your candle vigil.
