Saint Anthony of Padua was a gifted Franciscan preacher known for his knowledge of scripture and his deep devotion to the poor and sick. His association with lost things is traditionally traced to the disappearance of a treasured book of Psalms, which was returned after he prayed for its recovery.
Saint Anthony may be petitioned for help locating lost or stolen belongings, important documents, missing mail, missing pets, or people who cannot be found. His assistance may also be sought when something less tangible has been lost, such as contact with someone, an important opportunity, peace of mind, faith, hope, or a sense of spiritual direction.
His many traditional patronages also include travelers, the poor and oppressed, marriage, childbirth, and infertility. Whether the concern is material, personal, or spiritual, this vigil seeks Saint Anthony’s intercession in recovering what has been lost and guiding the petitioner toward the help or answers they need.
Your vigil will be carefully dressed, blessed, petitioned, and burned on your behalf by Divine Harmony Spiritual Church. You will receive a photograph of your candle vigil.
