He began to pray as intensely as he used to drink. He spent the remainder of his life tracking down those who he had wronged, and paid back people from whom he had borrowed or stolen money. He became greatly admired and a highly respected member of his community, and he was renowned for his kindness and piety. After his death, his story spread far and wide and he became venerated as a great ally for those who suffer the burdens of addiction. Rev.
