Venerable Matt Talbot Candle Vigil

Venerable Matt Talbot Candles are dressed and burned to petition his help for those struggling to break the chains of alcoholism and addiction.

Matt Talbot struggled with alcoholism and poverty before taking a pledge to renounce alcohol—first for three months, then six months, and finally for life. He began to pray as intensely as he used to drink.

He spent the remainder of his life tracking down those he had wronged and repaying people from whom he had borrowed or stolen money. He became a greatly admired and respected member of his community, renowned for his kindness and piety. After his death, his story spread far and wide, and he became venerated as a great ally for those who suffer the burdens of addiction.

Your vigil will be carefully dressed, blessed, petitioned, and burned on your behalf by Divine Harmony Spiritual Church. You will receive a photograph of your candle vigil. If you select the optional emailed report, you will also receive our observations and interpretation of any signs seen during the burn.
