In ancient Greece, those seeking healing traveled to temples dedicated to Asclepius, where both spiritual devotion and the healing arts were practiced. His serpent-entwined staff remains one of the most widely recognized symbols of medicine. Asclepius represents skilled care, sound medical judgment, restoration, and the body’s ability to heal.
This vigil may be petitioned for clear answers from medical tests, an accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, a favorable surgical or procedural outcome, and a steady recovery from illness or injury. Asclepius may also be asked to guide and strengthen doctors, surgeons, nurses, therapists, and the entire medical team so that they make wise decisions and provide the best possible care. This spiritual work may be set before an appointment or procedure, throughout treatment, or during recovery alongside appropriate medical care.
Your vigil will be carefully dressed, blessed, petitioned, and burned on your behalf by Divine Harmony Spiritual Church. You will receive a photograph of your candle vigil. If you select the optional emailed report, you will also receive our observations and interpretation of any signs seen during the burn.
